Courtney Walsh
School Librarian Media Specialist
I am the KMS Library Media Specialist for grades K-12. I teach at the elementary school in the mornings and the high school in the afternoons.
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Art Education from the University of Minnesota and a Library Media Specialist license and a Master's Degree in Information Media from St. Cloud State University.

My family moved to Kerkhoven when I was 5 years old, and except for my college years, I have been in the area since. My husband Jason, an agronomist and branch manager for Nutrien, also grew up in the KMS area. Our oldest child, daughter Sydney, is a dental student at the University of Minnesota. Our middle child, daughter Alexandra, is a post-partum nurse in Fargo. Our youngest child, son Jacob, is a student at NDSU studying agriculture.
When I am not teaching I enjoy reading, flower gardening, watching movies, traveling, and spending time with my family.
Marlyce VanHeuveln
Elementary Library Assistant
I have been a para in the KMS school district since 1991. I have worked in several areas. I started in the library at the high school and then went to Title I with junior high students, I was then transferred to Early Childhood program. I then came to the elementary school and worked in Title I before I became a special education para-professional. I am currently a para working in the media center in the elementary school. I enjoy my work here where I get to see all the kids and help them pick out books to read.
I am a graduate of the first class of KMS High School-long ago. I have lived in the area my whole life. I am married and my husband has a construction business. He is also a graduate of KSHS. We have 4 children and 10 grandchildren. Several of my grandchildren go to KMS.

In my spare time I like to read, garden, travel, kayak, fish, and the list could go on and on. I also like to spend time with the grandkids.
Traci Strandberg
High School Library Assistant
I have been a Para at KMS High School since 2006. Prior to working in the Media Center, I worked as a Special Education Para. I love my job in the Media Center because I get to see and visit with so many students.
I grew up on a farm by Raymond and graduated from Raymond High School. After high school, I went to St Cloud Technical College and received a degree in Dental Assisting.
My husband, Kevin, owns and operates Strandberg's Insurance Agency here in Kerkhoven. We have 3 grown daughters and a son-in-law who all graduated from KMS High School.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time at our lake cabin, baking, traveling and being with my family.
